As a rough guideline, administrators usually require editors to have made more than 500 useful non-botlike edits, and to have been active in the last thirty days. Patrollers and License reviewers don't have to request this flag.
A study of anarchist movements in the canton of Bern, Switzerland, in collaboration with the user "Aristoxène". I cannot share the Swiss Federal Archives PDF documents because I am a new user and not the author of the documents. Thank you. Qody73 (talk) 10:28, 1 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. Aristoxène seems to have had some copyright issues this year (and not knowing that under Berne, copyright is automatic and must be waived in writing). I could consider a short term granting of the flag based on need though, and then see how it goes. Abzeronow (talk) 01:16, 2 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Hi! I’ve been active on Commons for quite a while now, with around 4,257 edits. I’ve made significant contributions through uploading and maintaining files, and I’m very familiar with Commons policies and procedures. Recently, I’ve focused on improving image quality, particularly by cropping logos and removing unnecessary whitespace that can disrupt infobox formatting on Wikipedia. I consistently aim to maintain proper licensing and categorization, and I believe autopatroller rights would help streamline my workflow and reduce the review burden for others. Thank you. Some copyright issues (mostly with logos but also a careless mistake from four months ago with a screenshot from an unfree YouTube video). Abzeronow (talk) 02:50, 8 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah I apologize was quite a silly mistake on my part. However in the realm of logos (where I will use atopatrol rights) I am quite knowledgeable of the rules regarding text logos and simple images. Yedaman54 (talk) 01:26, 11 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
because then the community should take seriously the considerations of a contributor without a user account who contributes only with his own IP address I don't know in the slightest who this a1cb3 is so you have no right to accuse me of that Sigismondo1996 (talk) 21:52, 9 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I have been a Commons contributor since 2012. My edit count is 8900+. I upload large number of photos. Presently I am trying to upload all the photos I took throughout 2025. It would be great if I am granted Autopatrolled rights. Thank you. Kingshuk Mondal (talk) 18:22, 11 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I'm requesting the Autopatrol right to be able to upload new versions of images with higher resolution and improved transparency. Thank you. Avayak (talk) 07:24, 14 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
As a rough guideline, administrators usually require editors to have made at least 1,000 useful, non-botlike edits or a large amount of justified renaming requests at Commons before they will consider granting the filemover right.
I have been a Wikimedia Commons contributor since 2016. While conducting Wikimedia Commons workshops, I have observed that many participants upload images without appropriate file names. In the past, I have also requested the renaming of some of my own contributions to give them proper file names. If I am granted file renaming rights, it will enable me to rename the images contributed by workshop participants who create good-quality images but use incorrect file names, thereby making their contributions more meaningful and impactful. Thank you. Gopala Krishna A (talk) 09:41, 8 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@Gopala Krishna A, 8 RRs (4 in 2025) so far with a ratio of 5:3. I would suggest you get some good ones under your belt and come back later. One area to especially take care of would be where to use capital or small letters. Thank you. Shaan SenguptaTalk10:21, 10 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@Shaan Sengupta: - Can you give a link to those files, or one of them? I don't think there is an absolute rule, how to write a date in a filename. In Dutch I would do 18-10-2025, but first I want to see a link, I don't like it mentioning me, without even linking to what you mean. Also, 'you being an experienced FM should've... (to: Gopala Krishna A'), what you mean by that? I'm one of the most experienced filemovers. Regards, - Inertia6084 (talk) (talk) 12:39, 13 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@Inertia6084, the line I think you being an experienced FM should've taken care of this is written after I pinged you. I was referring to you with that line. Regarding dating format, I absolutely know there isn't an absolute format. What I am talking about is "-" and not the format, whether it is in ddmmyyyy or any other, hardly matters. As far as the link you asked, one example is File:Pere-Lachaise Division 87 Columbarium 2015-10 18.jpg. Here the "-" is missing between 10 and 18, 2015-10-18. I hope you got my point now. Shaan SenguptaTalk14:12, 13 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@ It are multiple files, I renamed them, but sometimes I don't see things like that, no matter if I see good or not. A ping would (indeed) been enough, to make me restore it. Grtz. from the Netherlands - Inertia6084 (talk) (talk) 14:36, 13 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@Shaan Sengupta Thank you for point it out. But I believe 2015-10 18 its not the date. Uploader has done multiple uploads, and those numbers are in sequence. Because of that, I left the number like that itself. I was not aware that it was a date. I believe its not the date. It would be great if we can clarify. @Inertia6084 thank you for renaming. Please share your opinion as well.
I have been contributing to Commons since 2019 and I am in process to onboard a lot of new users too. Sometimes while uploading files, new users make mistakes and then it becomes difficult to change names. Plus, many times I see names of files are not given properly while editing. These rights will be helpful in these regards. Thank you. Brihaspati (talk) 15:06, 8 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Hi @Brihaspati, thank you for applying. I can see just one RR from you, that too from March 2020. If I am not missing something (which you can point to), I would advise you to gain some experience with this and come back later. Shaan SenguptaTalk10:24, 10 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I have been a Commons contributor since 2012. My edit count is 8000+. I add rename requests to files that require a more meaningful names. Some of my own photos need rename as well. It would be great if you could grant me filemover priviledge. Thank you. Kingshuk Mondal (talk) 09:50, 10 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I am a contributor of Wikimedia Commons since 2014. My total edit count is over 60,000. I upload large number of files in regular intervals. In the process inadvertently many files get incorrect name. Sometimes I feel adding extra descriptions to the file name. Also, I can change incorrect file name or files with very less description. Thus it is important that I am granted file renaming rights. I will be highly obliged if you could grant me filemover privilege. Thank you. Amitabha Gupta (talk) 11:53, 11 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I could use filemover rights to fix faulty names of files I would like to crop, or the cropped versions if I uploaded too hastily. Also some other files I'd stumble upon, if they could clearly use renaming - ambiguously or erroneously named. Thank you. Mithoron (talk) 20:54, 12 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
You only made four edits this year before the request and I do not see any anti-vandalism work in the last two years. Are you sure you need the right? GPSLeo (talk) 19:37, 7 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
For a rough advise, do not seek this flag if you have not made about 500 useful edits on Wikimedia Commons unless you associate with any Wikimedia affiliate, or campagins such as Wiki Loves Earth
